In Memory

My amazing brother Shane Clearance Smith passed away on January 15th 2011 In a tragic hangliding accident.  My heart broke that day.  I have never felt pain like that in my life.  It was something I was not prepared for.  It was a devastating grief that left an emptiness inside of me.  Shane was as awesome as they come.  He was fearless, brave, courageous, spiritual and valiant.  He served an amazing mission in Guatemala. He has touched so many lives! More than he knew.  Shanes patriarchal blessing was an immense comfort for me and my family during those first days after his passing..  It spoke of Shanes relationship with the savior "He knows you and you knew Him and He wants that sacred relationship with you again" Another comfort was... " You will not be taken home until it is in our Father in Heaven's time. As you keep the faith you will have Holy Angels protect you".  Shane was a great example and an inspiration to all those he came in contact with.  There were 1,400 people who were able to attend his funeral.  That alone speaks volumes as to what an amazing young man he was.  I know he is in a glorious place doing amazing things at this time.  I miss him dearly... almost more than I can bear but I know I will see him once again.  It was an honor to have been his big sister.  I am so thankful for the time I was able to spend with him.

I love you Shane, Till we meet again

  3. Shanna, what a beautiful tribute to Shane! Thank you so much. We will all miss him so much. He was a sweet, loving, cool, fun loving, playful, funny, caring, valiant worthy young man. He was a friend to everyone he met. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. It is a devastating loss to us that he had to leave us but at least we know that he lived in such a way while he was here that he will be there waiting for us when we return home to live with our Heavenly Father. Love you sweet daughter of mine. Mom
