Bath time with Brother!

Shyloh LOVES taking baths with her big brother Nolan! And he loves poring water on her head or spitting water in her face or taking toys from her... pretty much anything that will annoy her but its so fun for him he won't take a bath without her now :) She's the cutest thing ever in the bath! She splashes and turns every which way trying to get out of her bumbo seat.  The other day it tipped forward and she went face down into the water but luckily I always sit right next to her and was able to save her before any water traveled up her nose.

smooches

She's Mobile!!!!

Watch out world! Shyloh Lamoyne Hartzell is on the loose! Keep your belongings off the floor if you don't want them snotted and drooled on!  Come to the blog to see the video :)

That tongue is ALWAYS out!!!

Valentines

A few days before Valentines day my ward had a super fun relief society activity.  Sister Shelley taught us how to make chocolate covered strawberrys.  In my mind I was imagining several double boilers and temperamental chocolate...  But it was so much easier than I though so I knew I had to try it with the family.  So on Valentines day Joe came home early and surprised me with dinner out, just me and him!  We went to a little Asian restaurant near the house.  It was super tasty.  Mom and dad Hartzell watched Nolan and Shyloh so that was even better.  Then we ran into WalMart to get the fixens for the chocolate covered strawberrys. We found white, peanut butter and dark chocolate!  All you do is put the chocolate chips into a glass bowl and microwave for just over a minute.  Then stir in a bit of shortening and your done! Dip away! When the chocolate starts to harden just stick it back in the microwave to soften in again! I also browned some coconut and rolled some chocolate covered strawberrys in it.  Those were my favorite! Nolan didn't really have a preference.  He liked it all!!! At the end I also did some pretzels with the extra chocolate and those were the best! I will definitely be doing this again! A new valentines tradition in the making!

Shyloh wanted to be where she could see what was going on so we had here right on the floor with us in the kitchen.

In Memory

My amazing brother Shane Clearance Smith passed away on January 15th 2011 In a tragic hangliding accident.  My heart broke that day.  I have never felt pain like that in my life.  It was something I was not prepared for.  It was a devastating grief that left an emptiness inside of me.  Shane was as awesome as they come.  He was fearless, brave, courageous, spiritual and valiant.  He served an amazing mission in Guatemala. He has touched so many lives! More than he knew.  Shanes patriarchal blessing was an immense comfort for me and my family during those first days after his passing..  It spoke of Shanes relationship with the savior "He knows you and you knew Him and He wants that sacred relationship with you again" Another comfort was... " You will not be taken home until it is in our Father in Heaven's time. As you keep the faith you will have Holy Angels protect you".  Shane was a great example and an inspiration to all those he came in contact with.  There were 1,400 people who were able to attend his funeral.  That alone speaks volumes as to what an amazing young man he was.  I know he is in a glorious place doing amazing things at this time.  I miss him dearly... almost more than I can bear but I know I will see him once again.  It was an honor to have been his big sister.  I am so thankful for the time I was able to spend with him.

I love you Shane, Till we meet again
