Our Christmas Fun

This Christmas was very good to us.  Joe was able to get over two weeks off for the Christmas break which we are so very greatful for! We stayed at my dads house down in Vail.  We went to Grandma and Grandpa Jenkins house Christmas Eve which was so fun! We did a big 1000 piece puzzle.  Joe is a puzzle maniac! Who new!?  It was quite fun and I want to get a few more puzzles to work on during family get-togethers.   Shyloh was able to meat her great great Grandma Jenkins whom is 94 years old!!! We also captured a five generation picture. It was so nice getting to see my family again! Oh how I have missed them!

Our five generation picture.  Great grandma Nelda Jenkins, Then Emron Jenkins, next came my mamma Julie Nielsen then me of course then sweet Shyloh.  What a neat picture that I will always cherish!

Robbie was baptized on New years.  I was so glad we were able to be there!  I am so proud of him and his decision to be paptized.  Joe had the honor of standing in the circle when he was confirmed!

We had a hoot at dads house.  The horse had a bad foot so we couldn't ride her but I was able to see their Boxer give birth and take care of the new puppies! That was super fun.  We made sugar cookies and played games.  Its so fun there.  Dad and the kids also did a polar plunge in their pool. The temp was 31 degrees!!! Yikes! I was sick but even if I wasn't I don't think I could have done it!

I was the worst picture taker during this trip.  I didn't get a single picture of my dad or mom smith!!!!  I'm blaming it on  the nasty cold I had whilst there.  I really wanted some pics of them with Shyloh... :(

We really missed Summer and her family but they will be moving to Utah in mid February so I will get to see them soon enough :)

Update on Miss Shyloh Bean

She is growing and learning so fast! She is just shy of 7 months and super petite like Nolan was.  At her six month appointment she was only 13 pounds! She is still solely on breast-milk and very content at the moment.  Solids will come in the next few months though I'm sure.  She is rolling around all over the place but hasn't gotten crawling down yet.  She has lost a lot of her hair but still has enough that people exclaim over how much hair she has.  She is still waking at night to eat but I think that is because of my wanting to keep her nestled in my armpit at night.   Its cold and we don't have an extra heater for our closet (her future room) so this will have to do for now.  She is a very pleasant baby and an absolute delight to be around.  She usually only cries if she's hungry or tired.  We are completely enamored with her!  I couldn't imagine our lives without her!

On Santa's knee

Our ward Christmas party was a hoot! We had bean burritos and churros for desert! Lets just say I was thoroughly in heaven!  All the kids sang a Christmas song in Spanish then Santa came and each child got a turn on his knee.  Nolan sort of froze up like Ralphy and suddenly couldn't remember what he wanted.

Nolans favorite little friend, Trayson sat with him the whole time and had his arm around him at regular intervalvs.  He even pushed a kid off the stage so he could sit next to Nolan.  They have a blast together.  They are so much alike that they fight like cats and dogs and someone is usually crying but they hate to leave each  other and can't wait till their next play date!  Its so funny

 Let it snow!!!

Having been born and raised in Arizona it is still so strange to see snow.  I'm still not sure whow I feel about the strange cold white stuff.  i have to wear snow boots most of the time (no more toe socks with my thongs) Not to mention my snot freezes almost instantly if I'm out side longer than 30 seconds! On the good side, Nolan LOVES it.  He puts all of his snow gear on and tromps out into the snow and can play for hours.  He kicks it licks it hits it with his mittens.  He and daddy made a huge snow man with the help of Grandad the other day.  It came complete with windshield wipers for arms!

he made sure the snow wasn't yellow before attempting to lick it
